Prof healed Cody as we evacuated in the helicopter, I realized that we have to fill the power vacuum left by Steelheart's death, and help the people of Newcago. And this, is how I became a Reckoner. I changed from a stalker of the Reckoners, to a Reckoner myself, I grew smarter hanging around these guys, it allowed me to develop better thinking, and see what my purpose in this place was, and it was to help the people of Newcago! It was great being able to join the Reckoners, I was sad to find out Megan wasn't who I thought she was.

I survived the explosion, and Prof did too somehow. Prof  said he was able to stop the explosion from hitting me, I watched as Prof's injuries healed. I realized that Prof is really a Gifter Epic, and Prof confirms this. I told Prof that Megan is Firefight, Prof said he should have realized she was a Epic. Prof picked up Steelhearts skull which turned into steel, I left and returned to where I found Nightwielder, and found Megan listening to a recording from a camera she kept embedded in her skin that stored data in various caches, so she can reorient herself after she reincarnates. Megan said she needs time to herself, and I left with the rest of the Reckoners.

The bullets didn't work, what!?!? The bullets bounced off Steelheart, he sent a blast at me but it missed. Steelheart walked up to me, and I recognized him from the bank. Prof tackled Steelheart from behind, but Steelheart fights him off and crushes his skull with two punchers, leaving him dead. I told Tia to flee and Prof was dead, he couldn't escape. Steelheart told his Enforcement to leave me for him. The sun started to rise hah, without Nightwielder to keep it at bay with darkness the sun comes back! Steelheart approached me, I raised my fathers gun and pointed it at Steelheart, but he crushed my hand and took the gun away and pointed it at me. I whispered to Steelheart, my father didn't fear him, and that was his weakness. Steelheart pulled the trigger which set off a explosion, because I jammed it with my pen detonator. Steelheart is consumed by the ensuing explosion since it was caused by himself, someone who didn't fear him.

I reported that Nightwielder is down, and Firefight is out of action. Tia wanted us to abort the battle, but Prof refused. I reached the field and saw Prof dodging constant energy blasts from Steelheart, and returned ineffective fire. I saw a soldier get the drop on Cody, I tried to stop him but it was too late, Cody is badly injured with several bullet wounds. Abraham carried Cody to their escape chopper, and told me to leave. But I wanted to try shooting Steelheart. I eluded several officers who were chasing me, and tracked down Steelheart and fired three bullets from my father's gun, from close range at the Epic.

I realized that Steelheart might have taken Megan's phone and listened to our discussions, I told Cody I'm going to the restroom, but instead I hid nearby outside of it in a tunnel dug out by my tensor. I saw Megan nearby, trapped by the fallen debri and calling for help. Nightwielder left the bathroom searching for me, and tried to call me out. I left my hiding spot, hitting Nightwielder with bullets and UV light, killing him. Megan appeared behind me, with a gun, and says that she never liked Nightwielder. I realized that she was Firefight all along. Megan seems to be having memory problems, she told me that she is on her own side, not Steelheart's, though she doesn't deny when I accused her of betraying the Reckoners to Steelheart. Megan ran off, and I went in the field to battle against Steelheart.

Nightwielder tried to capture me with his shadow tendrils, but I dodged them. The other Reckoners fight off their foes, and an explosion goes off. I swear I saw Megan, but the others think it was an illusion and that means that Firefight was also going after me. We discovered that crossfire is not Steelheart's weakness, and they told me to execute phase four, which was for me to shoot Steelheart personally. I saw a image of Megan, but it was able to mimic her very well, and when I grabbed it, it turned out to be real. Then the hallway exploded.

Cody's shot hits Steelheart in the side of the head but caused no harm, Enforcements started firing at the UV floodlights and Nightwielder came after me. I ran down a rope into a restroom, I ran inside the stadium where I encountered... Megan.

I went to the third deck in the stadium stands, which was my position. Abraham set off a series of green fireworks to signal Steelheart. A Enforcement convoy appeared at the stadium, I think I saw someone i the upper stands, but no one else can locate anyone. Steelheart finally arrived, landing in the center of the stadium with Nightwielder and Firefight. Cody started firing at Steelheart from a sniper position.

We used tensors to dig tunnels around Soldier Field, and we also setup explosives beneath the playing surface. Prof revealed that he was a fifth- grade school teacher before Calamity, and he wasn't the inventor of the tensors and the harmsway like everyone assumed. We finished setting everything up, now it's time we summon Steelheart.

Conflux spoke of his pass, and how he wasn't able to gift his power to his master, Bastion, or to any other Epic that he tried with. I rejoined the crew and watched as Tia powered up a databad from a stolen fuel cell, since the rest of the city is undergoing a total power outage due to Conflux. I suggested to have the fight in a football stadium, since it would reduce the chance of civilian casualties. Prof told Tia to send a message to Steelheart, to prepare for battle in three days.

Steelheart had his daily broadcast play, but he broadcast-ed a challenge to Limelight to pick a place and tmie for their battle. Conflux woke up which is when we interrogated him, he revealed his name is Edmund Sense, and state that he was a captive who did not work willingly for Steelheart, and he demonstrated his powers to prove his identity. Prof ordered Conflux to withdraw all the power that he has gifted, or be executed, and Conflux complied.

I listened as Tia asked Abraham for more blood as she worked to try and save Megan. Megan not only had outside wounds, she had internal injuires which worried Tia. I heard beeps of the equipment monitoring Megan's pulse start to fade, I got up and went to Prof. Tia told me Prof can't help her, so  I sat down, and heard the sound I would never want to hear. Megan flatlines. Tia told me she was gone, and there was nothing she could do, Prof appeared asking if Megan was gone, Tia nodded and Prof told us to pack up because we're abandoning the base. I covered Megan with a blanket, leaving her face exposed, I went to pick up her body to make sure it's cared for but Prof told me to leave it, to focus on getting vengeance on Steelheart. I got my notes and packed up the imager. We made it to the new place we'll be staying in, without Megan. I set up my bedroll, lied down, and began to cry.

I managed to escape from the cycle, but Megan got pinned under it as it hit the wall of the tunnel, I was surprised to be still alive. I noticed two Enforcement men exit the alcove they'd driven past, which made me furious when I heard them chuckle, knowing they thought we were dead, or had no more fight in us. I used my pistol to shoot four shots into the pair of them, I didn't even check if they were dead, I got up feeling a crap ton of pain in my body, seeing Megan who is badly injured with a broken arm had the blood the length of her side. She still had a pulse which was good. Tia warned me that Enforcement coming to where I am, so I decided I have to move Megan, I wrapped my jacket around my injured leg, and I found a pen detonator and blasting caps. I set one of the caps on the fuel cell of the cycle, and picked up Megan then left down the Tunnel. Prof told me help is coming as I started to reach the end of the tunnel, I could hear the Enforcement coming, I used the detonator and heard the shouts as the cycle exploded. I rested with Megan, but then I was spotted, Prof told me to use the tensor even though it was broken, it didn't work. Prof kept telling me to hold out, but I kept telling him go to Tia. I used Megan's gun to make them scatter, though they returned fire at me. I started saying sorry to Megan, I let her down, she deserved to live, even if I didn't. I continued telling her, I told her I think I fell in love with her on the first day. I went to fire my gun, but the soldiers yelled fire. The ceiling melted, Prof dropped through with Tensors on each hand as the soldiers started firing, Prof used the tensors to destroy the bullets as they approached him, he ran to the soldiers using the Tensors to disintegrate their armors as he attacks, cutting a sword out of steel in the middle of the fight, the soldiers surrendered. Prof told them that he is Limelight, and gives them a challenge to convey to Stellheart, he threatened to dismantle the city bit by bit unless Steelheart comes out and fights him. Prof made a tunnel through the ground, I grabbed Megan and follow Prof.

Me and Megan escaped through the wall I blew up, Tia directed us to a building that leads to a tunnel in a flood gully, which is where we encountered a helicopter, in attempt to shoot it down which was a success, it caused me to fall off the cycle, but I was protected from serious harm by the jacket I was wearing. The gauss gun however, didn't survive the fall. Cody managed to capture Conflux who was tired up in the trunk of the limousine, and had me bring him a bolt-hole seven. Megan and I were in a clear to escape, but our cycle got blasted by gunfire and crashes.

Nightwielder followed our van, but I shined my UV flashlight at him, which caused him to flee in fear. They started firing at the van though, and a Enforcement helicopter showed up, but then Prof shot it down! Four more choppers came, and the first one crashed down causing our van to collide with a building and we could't get the van to keep moving.  We knew Conflux is still in the limousine, so we left the van and took the motorcycles that were in the cargo compartment. I rode shotgun with Megan. Abraham got hit by a bullet, and Megan created a diversion so he could escape, Prof kept shooting down helicopters. Megan and I ended up in a dead end alley, but I used the gauss gun to blow a hole in the wall for us to escape through.

Tia had used their city surveillance to find a convoy that might be transporting Conflux. Megan is nervous but I managed to get her to relax after I told her I felt like a brick made of porridge, pretty smooth of me. I made eye contact with a woman who I had seen before, Nightwielder's assistant, but she didn't recognize me. I felt like it was a trap, and boy was I right. Nightwielder himself flies out of the top of the limousine.

The crew looks over the contents of the safety deposit boxes to try to determine if anything could have been the cause of Steelheart's weakness. They decide to keep the gold to fund their future activities. Abraham retrieves the gun that was used to shoot Steelheart, since it may still be in working order, and gives it to David. Prof feels that Steelheart is not reacting the way they want him to regarding Limelight, so he decides their next step is to take out Conflux.

The Reckoner crew travel to where the surprisingly intact bank vault had sunk down to, via tunnels that they created with the tensors. David has flashbacks about that day, and finds his father's remains, turned to steel. David becomes convinced that it was his father, and not anything else contained in the vault, that was related to Steelheart's weakness. Despite this, they decide to search all the safety deposit boxes to look for clues about Steelheart.

I seeked out Megan to continue their discussion about the ethics and realities of their plan to kill Steelheart. Megan says that Epics are a test on humanity to see how they would react to being given powers. Cody shows up and gives David a flashlight with a UV bulb in case Nightwielder discovers their hideout. David tells Megan and Cody that their assumptions about Firefight are incorrect, and that Firefight is really an illusion Epic, not a fire Epic, and shows them evidence to support this theory. Tia appears and says that the bank vault that David hid in has been located.

Prof informs the crew that they were successful in their disinformation campaign about Limelight since there are rumors spreading throughout Newcago about the imaginary Epic. He also says that the data chips they obtained at the Power Plant contained information about a propaganda campaign that Steelheart is apparently running to make himself seem evil. The Reckoners debate about the potential negative effects of killing Steelheart on the city of Newcago. Abraham tells David that he is one of the Faithful, a group of people who believe that good Epics will appear.

The guards look down and shine a flashlight into the shaft but though they hear some noises, they don't see David and Megan. David accidentally blasts a hole in the wall and discovers a room which the two of them enter. David discovers it is not on the building schematic and Megan says it is locked with a code secured door. They remove some data chips and documents then proceed on their original mission, though they have to rush now since Prof and Abraham had to kill some guards. They grab some power cells, and take lab coats to use as disguises for their escape. Their explosives start blowing up, and David and Megan enter the corridor wearing the lab coats and fake security badges, hoping to escape in the chaos. Megan tells a guard that an Epic was using energy blasts. The Reckoners also detonate explosives that distributed leaflets proclaiming their invented Epic, Limelight, was calling out Steelheart. After the building is evacuated, the Reckoners set off the remaining explosives, but the building doesn't collapse until David detonates his pen activated bomb.

I became partners with Megan on the mission to destroy Newcago's power plant. David uses a tensor to break through the outer wall. They plan to tunnel through the offices to stay out of the hallways to avoid the guards and security cameras, then leave explosives to cover up the tensor holes. They improvise their plan to steal energy cells by taking a different path to avoid civilian casualties. As they wait for an opportune moment to ride on top of an elevator, David confronts Megan about her constant criticism of his tendency to improvise since it seems to be a standard practice for the Reckoners and about her general negative attitude toward him, but she doesn't answer his questions. Cody tells them to scrap the plan after no elevator shows up, but David decides to improvise by using the tensors to make handholds so they can climb up the elevator shaft. As they climb, Megan reveals that she doesn't like how David changed the team dynamics of the Reckoners and that she wants to kill some Epics but not Steelheart due to the stability he brought to Newcago. Megan tells of how her home city, Portland, was turned into a wasteland and how she doesn't want that to happen in Newcago. As they climb, Cody alerts them to trouble, and one of the elevator doors opens above them, and two guards look inside the elevator shaft.

I met with Prof and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of my plan to kill Steelheart. The plan is modified to attack the infrastructure of Newcago rather than minor Epics, as a psychological ploy to deceive Steelheart. David suggests they attack the power grid so that they can also steal a power cell for their gauss gun, and Prof agrees. Prof is impressed by David's discovery about Nightwielder but also warns him not to get any Reckoners killed out of recklessness.

Nightwielder immediately turns to face me, but I pretended that he is focused on making the device work and not aware of the Epic. David had activated the recording function of the device and conceals and removes the data chip containing the recording. David then pretends to notice Nightwielder watching him for the first time. Nightwielder destroys the scanner but leaves David unscathed, and David says he will return to the back of the store to continue inventory. He finds the newly dug tunnel, joining Abraham and Megan, and explains about selling Abraham's gun. They travel through the tunnels before stopping to verify they aren't being followed. David plays the video from the recording chip, showing Nightwielder become corporeal from exposure to the UV light, which impresses Abraham greatly but angers Megan due to the risk.

I left my hidden location with Abraham's gun, alarming Nightwielder and his companions, and plays the part of a store employee, telling Diamond that he fixed a non-existent defect on the gun, and replacing it on the wall in the empty spot where the gauss gun was. Nightwielder asks David to explain the specifications on Abraham's gun and another one, which he does easily.

Nightwielder buys Abraham's gun and orders more like it, and asks for forensics tools which Diamond stocks just for him. David reads the specifications for one of the forensics kits to figure out if it has an ultraviolet scanner since he thinks that Nightwielder is vulnerable to UV radiation, and finds that it does, then contrives to test this hypothesis by turning on the scanner and pointing it at Nightwielder, knowing that this could mean his death.

Abraham says that Nightwielder knows him by sight, so that they must avoid encountering him if possible, and he goes to try to use a tensor to dig an escape tunnel in a remote part of the corridor from the "entrance" to the store. David wields Abraham's gun as Nightwielder and several Enforcement officers appear. They are disappointed in what Diamond shows them, and Nightwielder notices a blank space on the wall where the gauss gun was, and inquires about it. Diamond tries to claim customer confidentiality but then Nightwielder is distracted by a noise Megan makes. David tells them to continue and that he was going to improvise to create a distraction.

Me, Abraham and Megan are the first customers to Diamond's shop since his recent arrival. They browse the arsenal, looking for weapons that can mimic the powers of an Epic. Diamond shows David a video of the detonation of a stealth explosive disguised as a bottle of water. David tells Megan that he doesn't like being called a nerd because all the smart kids in his factory ended up working as Steelheart's corporate employees. Abraham purchases a gauss gun which fires charged explosive projectiles and a pen activated stealth explosive, in exchange for four dna data samples from harvested Epics and a data chip. David smells an odor similar to garlic and realizes that Nightwielder is there.

Me, Megan and Abraham are accosted by a gang as they traverse the steel catacombs. Abraham challenges one of the gang members to a duel, and he accepts, then shoots Abraham three times, though the bullets are deflected by his jacket. Abraham shoots his opponent in the leg, dropping him, then bandages the man's wound and advises the thugs that they would be better off as allies.

After they walk away, Abraham reveals that he was slightly injured by a bullet fragment, since the jackets are not completely bullet-proof. He adds that this incident will probably lead to rumors of them being Epics, which would augment their plot against Steelheart. As they walk, they theorize on what Steelheart's weakness may be. They arrive at Diamond's shop which is guarded only by a young girl.

Tia says that she is researching what happened when Steelheart was shot so that she can determine what Steelheart's weakness is. Prof shows up and tells David to accompany Abraham and Megan to a weapons dealer.

Megan and Cody told me several important obstacles to defeating Steelheart, including locating him, and his array of abilities. I created a plan, and part one of this plan is to lure Steelheart into a duel, which would resolve the issue of finding him. A part of this plan is taking out the Enforcement, by going after their leader Conflux, who is a gifter that uses abilities to power the officers power suits and weapons. Steelhearts Reinforcement pre-recording broadcast appeared when discussing my plan, we watched it which showed Steelheart blowing up several inhabited buildings with energ blasts. This video couldn't have any better timing, it encouraged Prof to agree to my plan.

I received a lot of praise on my research notes from Cody and Tia, Tia questioned my methods of classification, commenting on the strengths and weakness of my system I created. Cody said that I need to have a life outside of killing Epics, but Prof disagreed. They had a debate about weather attacking low-level Epic. Tia inquires about a unique photograph of Nightwielder appearing corporeal while in daylight, standing next to Steelheart on the Day of Annexation, this day was the day Steelheart converted most of Chicago into steel, and assumed power over Newcago. I told them we could defeat Steelheart but Megan argues that it's impossible, I know it is. They lead me to a room where a device called an imager, showed a projected view of Newcago on the wall, and they told me if they want me to execute this plan on killing Steelheart, I would have to persuade Megan.

I took my notebooks, my folders on Steelheart, Nightwielder, Firefight, and Conflux. Roy said I was working for the Reckoners, but I made up a story about working for some guy who's a Epic named Limelight, who was coming to take over Newcago from Steelheart, I suggested for Roy to leave his job while it is safe to do so. I set my bed on fire, which was really cool to do, and escaped with Cody and Megan as soon as the Enforcement helicopters arrived. Megan didn't like that I left two officers alive, but I told her it'd throw their superiors off our trail with my cover story I told Roy, plus Cody agreed they weren't the real enemy. Cody told me a lot about Prof's background, also told me about their protective jackets and the tensors Prof developed after experimenting on Epics, and this allowed them to disintegrate non-organic materials! We arrived at the safehouse and Prof took my notebooks to assess their value.

I went into my home, and tried to pretend I didn't know of the trap, I took my emergency backpack and notebooks which led me to regret not bringing it when I came to meet the Reckoners. Three officers a Epic, and a Sniper, came into my home to arrest me. I told them I was following Fortuity out of curiousity but I got in trouble for the death of a epic. While all this was happening, I recognized a voice, it was Roy, he worked in the same munition factory as me, and Roy vouched for my hobby of following the exploits of Epics. Cody came in and shot two of the officers, fatally wounding one, and I shot Roy in the leg to incapacitate him, not kill. I, the smart one, threw my smoke grenade in the house, which did nothing since Refractionary wasn't even inside. So, the genius I am, I took Roy's cell phone and dialed her number from the contact list, which allowed Megan to find the vibrations to located, and kill this invisible Epic.

So, Prof is officially crazy! He ordered Cody and Abraham to blow up my home before Enforcement can get their hands on my notebook, but no, I did not let them go on with this until that notebook was in my hand, there is valuable intelligence that will help us on this mission. Luckily my argument was great, Prof ordered Megan and Cody to accompany me to retrieve the notebook, if it's safe, if not to destroy them. Megan suspected a trap, and I saw a shimmering garbage bin, which is a illusion created by Refractionary, she is a illusionist Epic, with personal invisibility powers. She's not very powerful, and her illusions usually shimmer as if light is reflecting off of them. I convinced the two to ignore Prof's order, and to retrieve the notebook despite the trap. I, the smart one, had a smoke grenade in my home, which can neutralize Refractionary's powers.

We walked to the safehouse where I was not surprised, being questioned again. We walked a little slower than the others, the others walked ahead of me, Prof, and Megan. I tried to play a move on Megan but it didn't work out, I just couldn't manage to get her to reveal any top secret information about the Reckoners. She started questioning me about my life, probably cause I kept asking about theirs. I told them about my notebook which is filled with research on Epics and the Reckoners, which...is at my home. But.... Megan realized that the car I stole belonged to a girl... which could identify me to the Enforcement, and this police force is used by Steelheart to rule Newcago, and this can compromise all of us.

The Reckoners didn't want me, but I want to be with them. I told them they are negligent and cowards for not going after Steelheart, and they ignored me. But, they got interested when I told them I saw Steelheart bleed, which stopped them in their footsteps when they were leaving. I explained to them the whole story from when I was little, when my father died, how I met Steelheart, which I never revealed to anyone since it contained a deadly secret. They interrogated me further, and choose to stay here, in Newcago, in a safehouse known as Hole Fourteen. I also figured out that Prof is actually Jonathan Phaedrus, and oh man how exciting to find out this guy is the founder of the Reckoners!

I've finally achieved meeting the Reckoners!!! They did some blood tests to verify I'm not a Epic, then they asked me how I knew they were gonna take down Fortuity, which I told them I used rumors and logic to figure this out. I asked them if I could join them, to become a Reckoner. But they told me they aren't recuriting, and they don't want to see me again. Their Prof says, "they are just killing Epics, not changing the world".

Fortuity died from this shot, I was surprised since he senses danger, but that's when I realized how he was shot. Megan had taken my Rifle, and her Pistol where she shot them both at same time so if he tried to dodge one, he'd get hit by the other. This is when a ton of those guys that I killed earlier showed up, shooting Uzis at me and Megan, we took refuge in the car, and that's when she pulled out a lipstick which was really a grenade, how cool is that!? She threw it at the guys and it gave us time to escape, that's when we went into a garbage truck that was driven by Prof, and there was three other Reckoners here too, Abraham, Cody, and Tia. This is when they stopped to question me.

I killed three of them.. With three shots. The fourth guy escaped though, which helped me realize that person on the roof wasn't even there. So I used this as my advantage and went to catch up with Megan. I got to steal a car, I tried to stop Fortuity from escaping Megan but he leaped onto the windshield and then off to the back of the car, when this happened Fortuity came after me. But was interrupted with a bullet to the chest.

Curveball had a handgun, I have a rifle. Handguns have one distinct advantage over the rifle I was holding, they're fast. I didn't even think to try to beat him in a draw, I ducked and ran to the nearest alleyway. Now I probably would've got shot, but the thing about handguns is that they're difficult to aim. Even trained professionals miss more often than they hit. Fortuity approached, but a shot from the roofs came down which he of course dodged easily since he can sense danger. After observing Fortuity movement, I realized he was handcuffed, which means the Reckoners' plan had half worked, he was still escaping though. But this is when the woman in the sleek red dress spun into the alleyway, holding a tiny derringer pistol and pointing it at me. I found out that her name was Megan, she had Tia blow up the Reeve. She had made some talk to Abraham, but I couldn't manage to hear it so I don't know who he is, Hardman though, he was a sniper on the roof, which she had him commanded to shoot me if I moved but I feel like it was to scare me because later she came running after Fortuity left, and to the right were men coming for them which the sniper didn't take note of, seeing her in danger I reacted quickly by rolling over and grabbing my rifle.. I squeezed the trigger, expecting to be shot from Hardman.

I felt really stupid when I got up to approach what was happening, in hopes to aid the Reckoner lady. The Reckoners plan their assassinations with extreme care, so me getting up changed their plan. Maybe not though, no plan is perfect. I hustled down the dark street on a steel sidewalk, passing through pockets of light. Once I reached a reasonable discussion range, I yelled out Donny  which is Curveballs real name. I made a attempt to get him out of their talk, and to bring him back to the Reeve, he noticed my rifle and went for his pistol but stopped for some reason. I was scared, my heart was thumping and I did my best not to show it. Little did I know, if I managed to fool Fortuity I must have fooled her too, which gave them a opening to hurt me. But then, Cureball questioned me, what team was I under. I went to the overstreets today trying to run into the Reckoners in hopes to join them. I made it to The Reeve Playhouse just as the play ended, which was a relief. I saw Fortuity there. He was an Epic with precognition powers. He could guess a upcoming dice roll number, sense danger, foretell upcoming weather. His powers were so well attuned, that he could avoid a machine- gun barrage, and he would also know if his food had been poisoned or if a building had explosives on it. Donny, also known as Curveball had shown up too. He is a Epic with one power only, and that's to shoot unlimited amount of bullets with a handgun. I had witnessed a plan the Reckoners were trying to execute, but it was going wrong because of Curveball, I could see it in the lady's face, she was a Reckoner. I had the guts to get up and walk across the street to them, it was time that I was to get noticed by the Reckoners.
